Created by American engineers jet flamethrower FLASH was the answer to the challenges of the new time. It was the war that became the trigger that made the question of developing and adopting new types of infantry weapons very relevant. The lack of upgrades was clearly felt in the 1960s, especially in the second half of the 60s, when the United States fully engaged in hostilities in Vietnam. It should be recalled here that the flamethrowers in service with the American army did not undergo any changes after the end of the Second World War.
Engineers of the Northrop company were responsible for creating the flamethrower and the jet engine for charges, conducting ballistic tests, the engineers of the Brunswick company worked on the fire mixture and the process of organizing the mass production of a new model of weapon.
Engineers at Engewood Arsenal and military laboratories of major American corporations Northrop and Brunswick were in charge of creating a new flamethrower. Unusual weapons, designed at the end of 1960's and in mass production from 1969, were originally designed by American designers to replace traditional jet backpack flamethrowers, which were widely used during the First World War.
